Wedding + travel

yuuagoSo! For the past week and a bit, I was in Newfoundland for my brother's wedding. My family isn't from NL at all, but sister in law is from St. John's area. So, that's why it was down there. It was lovely! And now it's done.
I don't have much to say about the wedding itself; bro and SIL seemed happy with how it went, so that's all that matters!
As for the non-wedding part of the trip, St. John's is lovely, and if it weren't so damn far away, I'd seriously consider going back some time.
Both Signal Hill and Cape Spear were the most memorable as far as sights go. Lots of pretty scenery! I really wish I'd been on my own, because it would have been really nice to take some good long hikes on the trails in that area. As it was, I had to coordinate with some other people, so there wasn't as much flexibility as I usually prefer. We also took a boat tour of the harbour and area out toward Cape Spear - the view from the water is really impressive. Not sure how my photos turned out, but I look forward to finding out.
Originally, I'd hoped to get some writing done while I was away, buuuut what with being very busy, and having difficulty concentrating even when I was alone, and being mildly sloshed in the evening more often than not, not much happened on that front. ;P On the upside, this is the best my wrists have felt in years (hah).
The return trip was a bit of a mess; we had an early departure, but then our connection home got delayed for several hours, and we didn't get home until close to 1 AM Alberta time (so, like, 4:30AM Newfoundland time). So, I was pretty exhausted today - very glad that I thought to take today off before going back to work.
Anyway! It was a nice trip, I'm glad everything went well, and now I'm very happy to be back home in my own bed. :V
