+ Dad came over today to help me change the battery on the smoke detector. I couldn't figure out how to open the compartment for the life of me. (It clipped to the ceiling in a weird way). I will say, I'm glad that I was able to ask for help without internally panicking over the fact that I couldn't figure out how to do something so simple. Go me!

+ Recipe rec: Winter Vegetable Minestrone via Occasionally Eggs. Made this tonight and it was pretty damn good! I'm glad that I took the time to prepare dried beans for this; the texture is so much nicer than using canned beans.

+ I came home with two sweet potatoes. I must have had plans for them, but now I sure can't remember. Typically, I only cook once per week, so I guess I have some time to figure out what to do with them. Suggestions? I prefer soups/stews/curries/stuff that's cooked in one big pot and freezes really well. No diet restrictions.

+ All I want to do is lounge around and watch ballet, but ugh, I have so much shit to do, why. (Because you don't have a magic robot to clean the house for you, Yuu, that is why.)

I don't know how well it freezes, but I've made variations on this sweet potato stew before and liked it.

Life would be better if there was a magic robot to clean the house. I'll try a roomba (or similar) again one day, but the last time, my hair destroyed it, so a perilous process.

I have a feeling my hair would kill a roomba. Or it'd get confused by the rugs.
