yuuago+ Editing is such a process. Sometimes I want to go full medieval and throw all punctuation out the window. Commas? Never heard of 'em!
+ I have a secondhand computer that I'm thinking of switching over to Linux. I've never actually used Linux before, and since I don't know anyone IRL who does, I'd have to figure everything out myself, but... it might be an interesting experiment. And to be quite honest, I'm getting very sick of Microsoft.
+ So I just saw the trailer for Margrete den første/Margaret Queen of the North. This was the first I'd heard of this film, but man, am I ever interested. Politicking and conspiracies and medieval settings, whoo! I haven't seen Trine Dyrholm in anything else, but even just in the trailer I'm finding her very compelling as Margaret of Denmark. Sooo even though it'll be quite a wait before I can see it, I'm looking forward to this.

...in re: editing, you and me both, man. One of these days we should go full Cormac McCarthy, do a piece or two without quotations, punctuation, commas, just chuck 'em all, I believe in us.

Date: 2021-11-24 10:26 pm (UTC)Whichever I end up going with (it's either going to be Ubuntu or Mint) it'll be a straight wipe and install, no partitions, so thanks for that tutorial - it looks pretty straightforward from here. It sounds like creating the USB and booting from that will be the hardest part (since I've never done that before).
I really miss being able to have more control over my computer, so doing something extra like this to test the waters sounds great.
As for editing and Cormac McCarthy - not going to lie, doing an artsy experimental piece like that does sound like fun. I might have to give it a try after my current deadline-project is done. :'D
