Blah blah blah Jon/Michael
Mar. 31st, 2021 08:18 pmFound myself thinking, "Wait a minute, in season 4 Jon has those neat healing powers. So if you diverge from MAG 101 and keep Michael rather than Helen showing up, and everything else proceeds as normal, then what you get is the most wonderful setup for knifeplay with Michael's freaky sharp fingers...."
Turns out that I wasn't the only one who thought of that. There's a prompt for it on the RQ KM. ...A prompt that I indexed a couple of weeks ago and completely forgot about? (Mind like a sieve, I have one.)
It's possible that there's something up on Ao3 too, but I haven't gone digging yet.
I... kind of want to fill that prompt. Apparently I am into knifeplay, but only when no actual knives are involved and the cutting implement in question is extremely weird.
I just find it really hot when Jon has a horrible time. And when Michael is being... Michael.
Though it also works for more low-key things, even cracky fluff now that I think of it. Like, in the context of a consensual relationship, or something vaguely leaning in that direction, Michael's freaky fingers could make things a little difficult. But with Magic Avatar Healing Powers, that's... less of a problem?
Though now that I think of Michael/Jon in a season 4 context, it occurs to me - Jon as The Archivist, trying to do his mind tricks on Michael. Trying to forcibly pull information from Michael's head and whatnot -and regretting it so much because of whatever he finds in there. This is, after all, the Distortion we're talking about. It's an avatar of the Spiral! Whatever's going on in its head would be way too nonsensical to comprehend, and would probably fuck up anyone who tried to look. And whatever afterimage might be left of Michael Shelley's mind would be scrambled eggs.
I don't know what to do with that thought, but I find it interesting.
Also: my spiral earrings arrived today. I'm delighted. I feel like an incredible nerd, but I'm delighted. Such stealthy fashionable fannishness makes me really happy. Nobody else will know!
