I was thinking about MAG 26 today. Sasha and Michael's little coffee date and all. Not that it could exactly be called a coffee date, but probably the closest thing to it when you're talking about the Distortion, ha.

That episode leaves me with so many questions. Like, the flowers Michael was buying - why did he buy them, why lilies in particular, what did he do with them between the flower shop and the cafe, because it doesn't seem he still had them on him. And where would he even get the money for that? Unless the Distortion could access whatever Michael Shelley had in his pockets when he disappeared, I guess.

"How would a melody describe itself when asked?" Poetic....

I wonder, why Sasha? Why did the Distortion decide to talk to her and not one of the others? Did it know that she might be more receptive to it than, say, Tim would be - and if so... why/how?

"It said it wanted to be friends." Hmm....

I kind of like to imagine them meeting again at some other point. Another "coffee date", maybe even a proper one this time. And maybe it gives her more information, or maybe it doesn't. Maybe she has questions for it but not the right ones. I like the idea that she might want to know more about Michael, get a better understanding of it/him.

Maybe he'd put his hand in hers again, and that time she wouldn't pull away, because it does feel creepy to touch his hands but at the same time she's curious and - allowing it for research purposes (or so she tells herself).

...And that leads to other things. ("Other things"). I do enjoy Michael/Sasha a lot, really. I like to think that he'd be very gentle with her, that he wouldn't want to hurt her accidentally. Especially since he did hurt her once - though it was under very specific circumstances and he was doing it to help her. There's just something very... nice? about the thought of the two of them. Like, yes, he's a creepy monster, but oh, I don't know.

I think it's partly because some of the basics surrounding their meeting has kind of a romance story vibe. I mean... Woman sees a guy across the street, through a window. Is drawn to him (for whatever reason). Keeps thinking of him. Sees him in a cafe, and he doesn't seem to see her, and she stares for a moment but then moves on because she's late for work. And then she can't put him from her mind, and as she's going home from work, she passes the cafe again. And he's there. And this time, he looks at her, and when their eyes meet he gestures to the chair across from him. ...And she goes in and joins him.

It sounds like a romance setup when I write it out like that. Of course, it isn't in canon, because he's a creepy supernatural being and she's an assistant at a paranormal research institute and she has no reason to like him or trust him, but it just has that vibe and it's fun. I wonder if that kind of thing was intentional? Probably not.
