Reading Wednesday
Oct. 14th, 2020 07:43 pmJust finished: Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia. This book is: all the classic gothic horror tropes, but set in 1950s Mexico. If that sounds appealing to you, definitely give this one a try; I found it a good, creepy read.
Currently reading: The Living Dead by George A. Romero * Daniel Kraus. Romero directed/wrote Night of the Living Dead, which kicked off the zombie horror genre as we know it. Living Dead was meant to be a novel rebooting the general world of Night of the Living Dead with a modern day setting, but unfortunately Romero died before he completed it. Kraus took what had been written and finished it.
It's a big fat novel, and I'm not far enough into it to give any definitive opinions yet, but so far it's a pretty fun read, especially considering the season. :D
Reading next: Every Little Piece of Me by Amy Jones, and Salvage by Stephen Maher. I don't know anything about either of those novels except that they're set in Nova Scotia. I was missing NS pretty terribly, so I picked up some stuff from the library at random.
