It occurred to me today that when I'm living on my own, I'll be able to cook all of the foods that my family hates. Like curry. And stuff with tofu in it. And vegetarian dishes in general.

I can hardly wait.

Can confirm, "doing own meal planning/eating" is THE BEST.

I expect there's going to be a lot of trial and error before I make anything I'm satisfied with, but that's okay. The satisfaction of being able to make things that I like will be worth it. :D

Belated congrats on getting the keys, and hope settling in goes well - I'm sure you'll have the place feeling like home soon enough. :D

Yessss, being able to cook whatever I want has been one of the best things about moving out, plus you can experiment/fail a bit more because nobody else will complain!

Having the freedom to fail (and/or flail) while experimenting this stuff is going to be a big relief. If I mess up... it doesn't matter. xD

This is so EXCITING! I have to say, the cooking and baking was a huge thing for me too. The experimentation is its own reward. (Also, occasionally, food that tastes good!)

(Seconding the belated congrats on getting the keys to your new place. What great news, Yuu! I know it'll still be work to get the place the way you want it, but I hope settling in will be a relatively quick and painless process.)
