Man! If I'd known that knitting cables would be this easy, I'd have tried it a long time ago.

(The hat is going very well so far.)

I have the same kind of feeling that I get when I unlock a new level or something in a video game. ;)

Related: I'm so glad for the existence of video tutorials. I originally had to teach myself how to knit from still diagrams, and while that turned out okay, it was a bit of a challenge and probably took a lot longer than I would have if I could actually see how things are done. Things are so much easier now, and it makes me very happy.

\o/ Cables are the best. And they look so pretty, too. Honestly I'd rather do cables than lace or fancy stuff any day. That hat's gonna look so great!!

100% agreed on learning from stills, btw. I inherited a bunch of 'how to knit' books from my great-nana, and while they were informative once you already knew how to knit, they were absolutely useless to start with. I admire you greatly for teaching yourself from the stills because I just straight up put knitting away and didn't try again until the youtube era. (Youtube has taught me so many skills!)

I wanted a Harry Potter scarf, and since I couldn't buy one, I decided that I was going to knit one myself, come hell or high water!! xD (Thus was the beginning of ~knitting adventures~. Sheer stubbornness.)
