[Movies] The Three Musketeers (2011)

Watched The Three Musketeers (2011) this evening. I decided to take a look at it after seeing this gifset of Milla Jovovich as Milady.

This movie is absolute nonsense. However, it had:

+ Fancy costumes
+ Heaving bosoms
+ Ridiculous swashbuckling swordfights
+ Mads Mikkelsen playing a villainous dude who wears a poofy hat and an eyepatch
+ An airship battle (!!)

So... y'know. It's not great cinema by any means, but it doesn't pretend to be any more serious than it is. I wanted to turn my brain off, and this is right about my level tonight.

I still maintain that the fashion off between Louis XIII and the Duke of Buckingham is the most period authentic thing to happen in any Musketeers adaptation.

And they crashed an airship into both Notre Dame de Paris and the Louvre. Dumas would have LOVED it.
