Currently Reading: Empire of the Deep: The Rise and Fall of the British Navy by Ben Wilson.
"But Yuu, weren't you reading that earlier this year?" I sure was! I keep picking it up and putting it down. It's actually really interesting, but it's also very easy to set aside if something shiny catches my attention.
Anyway, I'm reading through the 17th century bit now and all these familiar names keep popping up ("oh look, it's Michiel de Ruyter again!") and it's definitely reminded me that I keep meaning to look up more stuff about the various Anglo-Dutch conflicts. Going to have to do that at some later point.
Also Currently Reading: Paradise Lost by John Milton.
At one point, I was taking a class that involved a lot of literature that referenced Milton. I can't remember which class it was right now, but I do remember being annoyed that I didn't understand the references, so I picked up a copy of this, fully intending to read it at some point.
...I never got around to it, but I sure did haul this thing from Nova Scotia to Saskatchewan and then finally back home. So, I figured it's high time I read it, just to say that I did. (It's kind of a snoozer. Perfect bedtime reading.)
Reading next: Your guess is as good as mine, mate.
