Whoops, forgot to do a reading update yesterday.

Finished reading: Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen. Delightful. Thanks to those who suggested it. :) I feel like I've read the first few pages somewhere before, even though I definitely have not read the novel until now. Must have been in some textbook or such. I wish I were more familiar with the works referenced in this. Kind of want to read Udolpho now, since there were so many references to Radcliffe's stuff in general and that one in particular.

Currently reading: A whole bunch of Paula Daly audiobooks have been keeping me from going insane during work. Mysteries set in northwestern England. Kind of nice to try something with a slightly different setting than my usual. These are basically like popcorn.

Reading next: Going to have to find something easy and maybe kind of trashy to tackle while I'm on vacation. I also have a few novel-length fanfics in mind, but we'll see if I actually get around to any of those. (I'm not actually sure if they will be any good.)

Udolpho is a voyage! So much bad poetry, so many descriptions of trees! But the actual plot is interesting. You just... skim a lot.

Glad you liked Northanger. I love Catherine so much <3

Someone in the 1800s cut out all the poetry and travelogue stuff, and the book was half as long.

I think I've only seen one adaptation and that was before I'd read the book. It was... fine? I'd be curious to see it again now that I've read the book so many times.
