Pluses and Minuses ☆☆☆

Blah:

- Dog woke me up at 4 AM this morning. And then woke me up again at 7. And 8. I wanted to slep in! :|
- People require me to Do Things For Them and I don't wanna.
- Had to go to Wal-Mart, which is always an absolute pain in the ass. It was busy as hell and by the time I left I was inches away from screaming.
- I went to every grocery store in the city looking for acini di pepe pasta, and not a single place had it. :|
- Considered NaNoWriMo, but the thought of making an earnest effort just makes me feel tired.
- I want to go to bed. It is 6PM.

Pluses:

+ We used orzo in the Italian wedding soup instead of acini di pepe, and it still tasted very nice even if it didn't look right.
+ I am enjoying Northanger Abbey very much. About halfway through it now.
+ I have a new rug for my bedroom, and it will be much easier to vacuum than the old one.
+ Received my prompt for fortune_favors. I think it will be easy to come up with something (probably).
+ One week until I'm on vacation! :D

I have definitely considered taking a nap mid-morning when I haven't slept well (on the weekend, at least, at work would be... ill advised). Weekend naps are great.

Vacation soon!! I'm very excited for you. I hope you get a lot of rest in! Are you going anywhere for it? (No is always an acceptable answer - staycations are my favourite.)

I had to look up what acini di pepe is - never heard of it before this. Wonder if you could try spaghetti chopped up into little bits? At that point, that's getting labour-intensive for a soup tho. I think orzo was probably the right call.

I'm going to Victoria! Probably my favourite place to go, since it's different enough to be fun, small enough that it isn't stressful, and close enough that the flight isn't horrid. The good weather helps too.

Cutting up spaghetti sounds like way too much of a pain in the ass. xD I've heard of people substituting ditalini, but orzo is at least within the ballpark of what we were going for.
