Oh boy, was today ever exhausting.
The neighbours were making a huge ruckus at 4 in the fucking morning. I get up at 5, usually, so it's not like I'm not used to being an early riser, but 4 is just way too early. Needless to say, I was not pleased. ;V
And then. THEN!! Okay, so. I've been having issues with my car insurance. I paid it at the bank, or so I thought. But then I received a notice that the insurance company hadn't received my payment.
AND SO that means I had to call around, getting bounced back and forth between the insurance company and the bank.
"You need to talk to your bank."
"No, you need to take this up with the insurance company."
"No, that's not right, you need to talk to the bank."
Ad nauseum.
After a little while of that, I said FUCK THIS, and then went to the bank in person. Luckily, I have the kind of job where I can leave like this as long as it only happens rarely - it just means I'll have to go in on Friday to make up the two hours that I lost. (Most of which was transport time, because I had to take the bus, because I technically did not have insurance, I guess.)
It sure is harder for people to give you the run around when you're standing right in front of them. ;V
I checked over everything with the bank to make sure that the payment has been sent correctly, and to the right account. Nothing was wrong on their end. So then I called the insurance company AGAIN, and finally - finally! - the payment was processed. Finally.
JFC, it had been over a week. I paid that thing on the 8th. :| Grumble, grumble.
Tl;dr: Today started out crappily, and I had to do a whole lot of calling around and far more running around town than I would have liked, in order to fix something that wasn't my fault. It turned out fine, but I was very annoyed.
This has been far too much Being Responsible for one day. ;) I treated myself to a chai latte, and I am going to do NOTHING for what remains of the day.

Date: 2019-07-17 01:47 pm (UTC)(Also, I would totally have driven despite the "no insurance" technicality. You DID pay for it, after all! But then again my insurance card shows me as insured for a 6-month span, so even if something got messed up with a monthly payment it'd still pass if I got pulled over or something. Not sure how that works where you are.)

Date: 2019-07-18 01:23 am (UTC)My insurance goes by year, so technically if I got pulled over, it'd look like I was fine for insurance. But since I've only been doing this for like a year, I figured it'd be best to play things as safe as possible.

Date: 2019-07-18 01:25 am (UTC)The extra two work hours is kind of annoying, but not too bad. I don't mind all that much, as long as I get paid. ;)
