yuuago: (SSSS - Emil - Reading)

Usually when I go on vacation, I end up buying books. One of the reasons for this is that I usually forget to bring reading material. But - this time, I'm going to remember.

But! I need to decide what to bring. Help me decide, please! :D And if any of you have read these titles, you're welcome to give thoughts on them.

He's a sweetheart! And watching him grow as PTerry's writing developed was really cool.
Like, I may be all about the Watch, but Rincewind is where it all started, gotta respect this Wizzard!

I seem to have added to the fragmentation of the results by nominating three books XD I haven't read any of these but I figure Pratchett is a safe bet, and I love history so I voted for Empire of the Deep and Millennium (I thought for a split second it was the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo books and I was like noooo--though I guess it's ok enough for a vacation read).

I voted Republic of Thieves because I’ve read one other book by the author and am curious about this one :D Selfish reason, haha.

Also voted Raising Steam, because a book about rail travel seems appropriate for vacation!

I voted Raising Steam and not Republic of Thieves (the only two on there I've read) because Pratchett is definitely more of a light-hearted vacation read? Like, if you've read the previous Locke Lamora books I'm sure you won't be surprised by the brutality, but it's not something I'd probably read on vacation myself. (Also, I seem to remember it's a big ol' brick of a book, hehe. This is why I always take my Kindle on vacation these days.) ^_^;

I also voted for "books bought on previous vacations" because hey, if you have them, why not?
