Finished reading: Psycho by Robert Bloch. This novel was the inspiration for Hitchcock's film by the same name. Back when Hitchcock was working on the film, he apparently tried to have as many copies of the novel bought up as possible, so that it wouldn't spoil the ending. Anyway - the novel itself is nothing special, neither in terms of writing nor story. I wouldn't exactly say it's a great work of horror. But, it might be of interest to people who are interested in the history of horror film or horror genre in general.

Currently reading: The Thief by Megan Whalen Turner. I'm not very far into this, so there's not much I can say about it yet, but I'm finding it engaging enough to keep going, and I'm looking forward to seeing where the story takes me. :V I do want to read the next book in the series, but the library doesn't have it in paper format, so I've asked them to order it. We'll have to see what they say about that.
[Edit] Well, I devoured this all in one evening. It took a while to get going - I wasn't hooked until about halfway through, but after that, I couldn't put it down. Looks like I'll have to wait and see re: getting the next bits from the library....

Reading next: Debussy: A Painter in Sound by Stephen Walsh. Apparently, one composer biography wasn't enough; I needed to pick up another. ;) This one isn't as long as the Chopin biography was, so I expect it won't take me over a month to get through it. ;p But we'll see.

I've never read any of Megan Whalen Turner's works but the Thief series is finished now, right? Good time to start now that we don't have to wait years between books!

Yay, I'm glad you enjoyed The Thief! (Also idk how you feel about ebooks, but The Queen of Attolia ebook is currently on sale for $1.99...so if you get too impatient waiting for it, that's a possibility?) Anyway, I'm excited to hear what you think of the rest of the series. :)
