A bag of miscellaneous things

☆ [Life] This holiday weekend has been okay so far, but it ain't over yet. Every year, I wonder why we have to go to such fuss... but at least I'll get to enjoy some home made pumpkin pie with an inch of whipped cream on the top. I hope that the Canadians on my Flist had a good Thanksgiving, and that everyone else had a good regular old weekend. ;)
☆ [Travel] Can't remember if I mentioned previously, but my vacation for November is now set. Going to be in Victoria from the 11th-17th. Ordinarily not a date I would choose, but that's how the scheduling shook out. The upside: I'll be able to catch the performance of Swan Lake that I wanted so badly to see! So, I'm very happy about this. Hopefully I'll be able to do some Christmas shopping while I'm in the city, too.
☆ [Car] So... much... snow. But I'll be getting my snow tires on this upcoming weekend, so then I can stop complaining about it. Though I will probably start complaining about re-learning how to drive in the snow. ;)
☆ [NiF] Ended up signing up for the Nirvana in Fire exchange...! Hopefully I will not regret this. ;) Do I really need to add another deadline to my schedule, and in a fandom I've never written prose for? No! But I did it anyway! (Maybe there will be some poetry-suitable prompts, who knows.)
☆ [YiH] That feeling when one of the persons in a pairing you love runs to the other's aid. Insert that Good Shit meme here. Boy howdy, the recent string of updates sure has been good to me.
☆ [Reading] Current library haul:
+ Wolf Winter by Cecilia Ekbäck. Mystery/thriller/murder set in northern Sweden in the 1700s. Obviously very relevant to my interests. ;) I think I'll enjoy this one.
+ The Sacrifice Box by Martin Stewart. A pact is made, and then broken, and strange things start happening. I wanted some schlocky horror and this seemed to fit the bill, though I didn't realize it was YA until I got home.
+ The Dance Boots by Linda Legarde Grover. A collection of linked short stories by an Ojibwe author. Pretty sure someone recced this to me, but for the life of me I can't remember who.
