Question of the day is:

Why buy makeup remover when I can just slather coconut oil on my face instead?

Seriously, this stuff dissolves mascara like nothing I've ever seen. I am amazed.

Not quite ready to switch over to using it exclusively just yet, but I'm seriously considering it.

I bought a big ol' jar of this stuff for my hair a while back; ended up not getting the effect I wanted from it, so it's just been sitting around ever since. Looks like I found a use for it...! Or at least for the days when I've slapped on the eye makeup with a trowel, heh.

And now that it's on my mind: It's getting colder. You know what that means.

Black lipstick season! :D :D :D

Of course, any season is good for that, but I find it's especially good in autumn - not to mention easier to wear when it isn't boiling hot out. Ahhh, looking forward to it. :)

That's pretty cool about the coconut oil. My thrifty, environmentally friendly ass enjoys knowing this and I'll suggest it to people in my life who use make-up. Thanks for sharing!

I have a feeling that probably any food-grade oil would work (olive oil or whatever) but the upside of this one specifically is that it smells nice in addition to working so well. :D!

oohhhh I’ve used coconut oil for my hair before - my hair looked great but the oil wrecked havoc on my face. But if it works for you, that’s great! Much more economical than makeup removers.

Yeah, not gonna lie, I'm still experimenting so I was a bit hesitant to recommend it, since I did have a few issues when I was using it as a leave-in conditioner... but for removing eye makeup specifically, I have had zero problems! And it doesn't sting like commercial removers do. Can't beat that.
