As mentioned previously, episode 16 can be viewed here

Having difficulty putting my thoughts in order for a detailed writeup, so I'm just going to throw a few things out there.

Aha, so it looks as if this particular part of the plot is resolved. Or at least the mystery relating to the elders + the Heaven's Temple Sect.

I'm glad that Duan Baiyue permitted Cai Tian to live (on the condition that she assist him in taking down Lan Ji). Considering she isn't a big bad, just a subordinate, and she seemed a bit scared of Lan Ji, hopefully she'll be able to take an opportunity to reform or, uh, something.

Lan Ji's death felt a bit anticlimactic - I would have liked a more impressive fight, and a better-animated death scene. But I guess this was all that time and budget allowed for. Not to mention, she isn't the final antagonist. I wonder how this scene plays out in the novel....

If the amount of episodes that anon mentioned a while back is correct, then I'm assuming the next cycle in the plot will be the last one, and elder Mu Chi is the big bad. Sounds like he's a pretty crafty guy, so Our Heroes had better watch out. ;V

The final scene with Duan Baiyue and Chu Yuan is lovely, as it typically is -

"If you permit me, I'll go in openly. If you do not, I'll go in on the sly." Pff. Oh Duan Baiyue, oh you. Ah yes, "It's not as if I've ever gone in without a permit" indeed....

Note to self: anon posted some info from the novel here; that Duan Baiyue refers to Chu Yuan as "xiao-Yuan" occasionally. Might be useful in the future....
