Pride YMM, Parallels, Duolingo, & Fandom Schedule

✿ I had a brief freakout yesterday morning because I thought Pride YMM was on the 11th. Not so, it's on the 18th! Which is good, because I was entirely unprepared. Er, well, mentally, at least - there isn't anything else I would need to prepare for (aside from deciding what on earth I'm going to wear). I was thinking about seeing if I could grab some sort of mask at the dollar store - nothing huge, just something to obscure my face a little - because it is simply Too Hot for the wig trick that I used last year. But, to be honest, I'm completely out of fucks lately, so I think I'll just slap some gothy makeup on and go.

✿ Parallels fanworks have been revealed! I received a lovely VME comic. :D and it tastes like home - Please go check it out, the art's adorable. <3 <3 It's everything I could have hoped for.

✿ I have picked up Duolingo again for the purpose of vocab drills for Norwegian... And since Melu and Basse are on it, maybe I'll continue to poke at it. :) If anybody wants to add me on there, name is yuuago (same as everywhere).

✿ AND NOW I'm going to dive in to the second volume of Romance of the Three Kingdoms, as I picked the ILL up from the library yesterday. Yay, warlords being warlord-y! :V

Outstanding Assignments

❀ Fandom Trumps Hate assignment #1: Laufey's fic. Draft is maybe 60-75% done. Need to talk to her about how she wants the ending to go.

❀ Fandom Trumps Hate assignment #2: Kiraly's fic. Draft is maybe 40% done. Need to check my notes and do some canon review before continuing.

❀ Fandom Trumps Hate bid betawork: ...this is actually for someone else's assignment. Kiraly can't beta this SSSS missionfic if I haven't finished drafting it. This is, hmm, maybe 85-90% ready to go; it is all typed up, just needs a preliminary edit before I throw it at her. [EDIT] Done! It's ready for me to throw at Kiraly once she gets back from vacation. :)

Upcoming Events

❀ HWD OTP Event: Ends August 31. I wasn't sure if I would be able to do this one, but I slapped together about 1k of porny Den/Nor this weekend, so... we'll see if I can finish that in time.

❀ VKC Shipping Month: Sept 01 - 30. I still kind of lack confidence when it comes to writing Vatican Miracle Examiner fic, but maybe I can put together a short something.

❀ trickortreatex: September 01: Noms start; signups start September 11 - if the schedule is the same as last year. I don't think I will sign up for this one - I have had great experiences in the past, and received wonderful fic, but I don't think I want an assignment right now. But, I might change my mind. Either way, I will be keeping my eyes on the requests in case I decide to do treats or snag a pinch hit. :)

❀ SuNor Zine: September 25: signups end. I was unsure if I could fit it into my schedule, but... the mod says that fic submissions should only be a page or so. Which seems ridiculously short to me, but it's convenient... I might see if I can throw together a submission before I actually fill in the signup form, though. (Any ideas, guys? Ones that aren't Svensk-norska unionen? I love writing them during the 1800s but that period seems like the too-obvious choice.) I also find it very surprising that the mods want to do a print zine of this. I wouldn't expect there to be enough interest for such a rare pairing! But maybe that's just an idea that they're tossing around. [Edit] Oops my hand slipped and I put in an application for it [/WHISTLES]

❀ Sweden/Norway week: Oct 30 - Nov 05 if the dates are the same as last year. Maybe I'll be able to put something together? I still really, really love this pairing a lot, as is probably obvious. xD

❀ Fandom Trumps Hate: December 15th if the signup date is the same as last year. I don't know if I will be participating in offers - it depends on when I finish my assignments - but I am definitely going to keep an eye on what people are offering in case something relevant to my interests comes up. Maybe I could commission some fanart?

❀ Yuletide 2018: ??? date. I don't want to sign up for this one, but I do want to write a New Years Resolution for the person that I defaulted on last year. (I'm not required to, but I want to. :D ) So, we'll see what happens. I'm pretty sure I can submit to the New Years Resolution collection at any time.
