Long weekend happened!

I did a whole bunch of chores, including a lot of the gross ones that nobody wants to do. And... not much else.

But I did try to make bread! It didn't turn out right - the texture was a lot more dense and biscuit-y than it was supposed to be; I think I over-floured it. Since I have made very few things in the past that require kneaded yeast dough, I don't know how to troubleshoot this kind of baking yet. But, that just means I need to do it more. :D And besides, at least the result was edible, even if it wasn't right.

Oh, and I finally blocked that scarf that I made with the yarn Melusine sent me; the one I finished months ago. But did I take a photo of it? Of course not. xD It did turn out very well, though! But I think I could perhaps have blocked it more aggressively, so I might re-block it at a later date, depending on how it actually wears.

It has been too hot to go out during the afternoons, for the most part, so aside from housework I have been doing a whole lot of nothing. But... that's all right, I suppose. :D It was nice to have some peace and quiet.

In my experience, when you're making a dough there are two ways to make it less sticky--one way is to add flour and the other is to work it more. (I say work rather than knead because if you're starting with an extremely sticky dough like eg if you're making strudel kneading isn't going to cut it--you'll just get a mess of dough over your hands. In that case you really need to make a ball as best you can and sort of slam it against a work surface upwards of 200 times. But I digress.) It could be that you ought to be kneading your dough more (and, as you say, using less flour).
