Reading Wednesday
Apr. 18th, 2018 08:10 pmOh man, am I ever tired. Well, anyway....
Just Finished: All Out: The No-Longer Secret Stories of Queer Teens Throughout The Ages, edited by Saundra Mitchell. This is an anthology of YA short stories; LGBT romances in historical settings. A fun, quick, fluffy read. Let me tell you, I would've killed to have access to something like this when I was the relevant age... 's fun even now, though. My only grumble is that I wish more of the stories were in non-USA settings, but that's a minor thing.
Also Finished: A Concise History of Finland by David Kirby. This book is a cure for insomnia. I have nothing else to say about it.
Currently Reading: The Poetry of Zen translated & edited by Sam Hamill & J P Seaton. What it says on the tin, basically - it's a collection of Chinese and Japanese poetry related in some way to the theme of zen. It's been a while since I've read such bite-sized stuff, so I'm rather glad I picked this one up - I've been feeling weird about my poetic style, and reading something different is always good in that kind of mood. Plus, it's nice to read something with such clear crisp imagery... because of work, my brain has been mush, and I can't handle anything too long.
Reading Next: One of the many history books in piles on my floor. I'll get through all this eventually. Which one, though? Hmm, we'll see....
