yuuagoCaught up to the end of #40, and....
I don't want him to be alive in my heart. I want him to be alive in this world.
Just go rip my heart out, why don't you.
- Jingyan has the biggest, wobbliest anime eyes ever. Now that I've noticed it, it's a bit distracting, BUT THEN AGAIN I don't altogether mind, because I rather like it when his eyes are full of tears. 8)
- "You can't poison this dude, because he's already hella poisoned." Well, that's one... interesting... way to solve that particular part of the plot. :V
- That bit where Jingyan insists on going the long way, through the snow, because Mei Changsu waited in the snow for him... [/throws up hands] I can't handle this.
- I haven't looked, but I'm willing to bet that there are roughly a zillion fics where Jingyan figures out that MCS is Lin Shu. And I'm looking forward to reading them. Because this is just too much - a good amount of the time I'm internally screaming "DUDE, YOUR FRIEND IS ALIVE, HE'S RIGHT THERE, EVEN YOUR MOM FIGURED IT OUT". Ahhhhh ;; I mean, I KNOW there are very good reasons that nobody would tell him, considering the sort of individual Jingyan is. So, while sometimes it feels like circling back to "You are honourable, but why don't you have any brains?!" - that is, the connection seems to be staring him right in the face, he seems to be ALMOST grasping it - I can still accept that he can't find out for very good plot-related reasons. But. The id wants what it wants.
- Consort Jing has nerves of steel and I aspire to be even half as much of an indestructible cotton ball as she is.
- Speaking of nerves of steel, Marquis Yan gets a nod for that. Also, I really appreciate how his relations with Yujin have progressed over the course of the series; it's so nice to see them working together, and to know that Yujin understands that he's loved. ;~; Weh.
I feel like the amount of episodes I have left is simultaneously so many, and so few... I don't know whether I want to devour the lot, or try to draw it out. (I doubt I will be able to control myself.)

I'm not saying anything about fics except that when you're finished and you want some recs let me know :) There are some great stories.
