Mar. 25th, 2018 05:53 pmAlriiiight, well.
I started working on some pysanky today! Wasn't able to start until several hours after I was ready, because the table was in use, so it took most of the afternoon and I'm still not finished, but... ah well, I can finish the rest of it later in the week.
Verdict:
-The kistky are much easier to use than I was expecting. Making a straight line is... exceptionally challenging, considering I don't have a steady hand, heh. But in terms of, like, melting the wax and applying to egg, it's not so bad.
-I now understand why many people hollow the egg after the designs and dying are all complete... If you blow it out first, you need to hold it down while it's in the dye; otherwise it just floats on the top. How obnoxious. ;V
-At the end of it, my hand was starting to cramp like a motherfucker from holding the kistka for so long. Prooobably a good thing that I had to stop, then. Perhaps it is best not to do nine eggs at one time. ;p
Anyway! It was fun, looking forward to finishing them later in the week. Though I've managed to break one so far through my clumsiness - hopefully that will be the only one that I break, though.
