First: Reminder that anonimanga exists! And we've rolled over to a second post now (voila). Mmm, that fresh new post smell. I'm glad that it seems to be going steadily.

Anyway.

Hmmm, it seems like our washing machine is borked.

It's pretty ancient, so it's not entirely surprising, but it's a real pain in the ass. If it isn't a quick and easy fix, we'll have to haul our stuff over to my brother's to get it done, probably.

Unrelated: this hat I've been working on is almost finished. And then I will... start a different one! Probably. In a different pattern this time. After I give my hands a rest, that is - damn this RSI garbage. Whyyyy do all of my hobbies require using my hands... it would be so inconvenient if I could just knit through telekinesis instead.

I have one other ball of hideous self-striping yarn, and I think I'll get through that first. Orrrr maybe I should do something with those two skeins of lovely Malabrigo Mechita that I picked up in Victoria. Who knows.

Speaking of knitting, the Pathways Blanket sure looks like a fun pattern. I unfortunately don't have anything suitable to make it at this time, but some day... perhaps. (Need to get through this stash first... !)

It's funny, when people were first discussing having an anime meme, I was totally uninterested. I didn't want to go to another meme, and I didn't think there'd be much discussion that would interest me, based on what I usually see people talking about on meme. But I have been loving it! I'm just flatmemeing and checking a few times a day and I'm actually commenting (more than I do on ffa, since I am usually at least a post or two behind in reading over there). There's still a ton of stuff I skim over, but overall I'm liking it a lot. (And I like the pace, too.)

I wasn't sure that I would like it either. Though in my case, it's because I'm not actually that familiar with very many anime/manga canons - the ones that I do know, I tend to love a lot, but I haven't actually seen/read a wide number of them.

But so far, I'm really enjoying it. The pace is good, and even when I'm unfamiliar with the series under discussion, I like seeing what people have to say about them (who knows, maybe I'll pick up something new based on what I see people talking about over there).

It's nice that there's a place where people can actually, you know, talk about stuff. FFA is just way too fast for this kind of niche discussion, I think; you can throw out a comment over there, but by the time an interested party sees it, the post has already flipped.

Aside from the mini-wank I accidentally spawned from an innocuous comment (but I guess this is the internet), I've been enjoying anonimanga, too. I've been able to have discussions about a couple of smaller, less-popular series that never get much traction on FFA, and some of the more general discussions have been interesting, too. The more relaxed pace is nice, and I also picked a few recs for some shorter non-Japanese works, which are something I've been meaning to try.
