☆ I'm still reading The Telescope in the Ice by Mark Bowen, and oh man. Most of the physics stuff still goes over my head, but I'm at the part of the book that discusses overwintering at the South Pole, and it's really cool. My knowledge of modern Antarctic activity is... almost nil, so most of it is new to me. And it's rather poetic at times. The description of the brightness of Antarctic winter nights makes the South Pole seem like the most sublime place on earth.
☆ VME: Somebody linked this Roberto multi-relationships compilation in VME chat and I'm just going to dump it here because, well. A++, nice. :D The one with Lauren is my favourite, to the surprise of nobody. But on the other hand I find the idea of Galdoune!Josef REALLY INTRIGUING (bless the person who mentioned that is what's going on). Full darkness for that guy could potentially make for some interesting angst/whump. I'd read the hell out of that fic.
☆ YiH: Next chapter of Year in Hereafter is starting, and I'm looking forward to it. Let's see where this takes us. The chapter cover looks really nice. Speaking of Mikael's art, he is working as main artist on a one-shot comic called Milford Green; it's a story set during the Victorian era, in which someone discovers that we are Not Alone in the universe. (In other words, aliens.) There's a kickstarter for it over here. Ahh man, I don't have room for any more books, but... it's Mikael's work. Hmm. WELL maybe I'll just get the digital version. (We'll see.)

Ahhh man... it wasn't a hard day at work, but do I ever need to rest. There's something about staring at a screen for hours and hours that is just way too much. And it doesn't help that things weren't going quite right today - so much of the stuff that was passed in to me was garbage.
Maybe a hot bath. Yes. That sounds really, really good. After I finish up some things.
Aaand tomorrow I'm going to go downtown, even if it's cold. It's probably going to be really really cold, but I don't care; I've been craving cheeseburgers all week. And I need to return some stuff to the library. And it's just good to get out of the house. Fresh air and all that. I DON'T CARE IF IT FEELS LIKE -35C. IT'S BRISK.
At least I'm not overwintering in Antarctica.
