VME spitballing
Jan. 8th, 2018 10:19 pmI don't think I'm going to go anywhere with this, but who knows.
I feel that their investigation of the Loch Ness monster should involve tentacles, and at least one near-drowning experience which calls for mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.*
Maybe I should just start mining FFA via Dememe for VME casefic ideas. Well, casefic with a side of shipping. It'd be a lot easier than coming up with my own.
Or they're up in the mountains (investigating angelic voices that have been heard on the winds, or something)
^ I like this one too.
(And I love how that thread just kind of wanders into discussion of Lauren's sexual frustration. Yes, perfect. I MEAN)
I like the idea that he [Roberto] makes sandwiches for Hiraga to bring Lauren. Whether tht's from the goodness of his heart or passive aggressive, or a combo with some denial, idk.
[/SCREAM]
...Definitely a combination of the two, yes. But mostly passive-aggression.
The "Roberto and Lauren team up" idea mentioned in that thread, now... I'm pretty sure somebody wrote that recently, but I haven't read it. I SHOULD READ IT. Because I like that idea so much. It's just a matter of getting around to it - I've been so busy, I haven't been able to get my brain to settle enough to enjoy reading.
And I should read Folie's casefic too. But I can't decide whether I should read it now, or whether I want to wait for it to be finished.
Query: Why the fuck did I fall in love with the basement-dwelling prisoner genius hacker bioterrorist edgelord? Is it the hair? Who knows.
I mean, I love Roberto and Hiraga too, but I really like Lauren a lot.
Thought: You know, I love urban legends and such; this canon would be a perfect opportunity to combine some things I enjoy from that + horror genre in general (after all, the Motley Clown arc is clearly riffing on the Blair Witch Project - there's precedent for it!). That... actually would be really cool, if I could hammer down a solid idea.
The nice thing about VME is that you can write something as batshit as you want, and it STILL will probably not be as batshit as the actual canon.
Anyway, plot is beyond my abilities, but hmm....
Ah, but I really should finish the straitjacket fic first. And also the poem I wrote (in which Lauren pines over Hiraga and is very frustrated about it. Because of course.) The problem with that one is that I think - but I'm not sure - it might require structure of some sort. I'm going to need to do a few different drafts and see what works best.
