yuuago☆ I haven't written a word of fiction all month. I'm surprisingly okay with this. But that's probably because I've just been doing other things instead - knitting and lots of reading. Ehhh well, I'll continue this way until the desire to slap down words returns! (Or until I finish making this hat, whichever comes first.)
☆ Suddenly remembered that I hate doing ribbing... blahhh. Oh well, at least I only need to do K2P2 for... another 15 rows. Ew. (Doing the base is always the most boring part, I Swear.)
☆ I have the most random desire to knit a blanket, but 1. I don't have the right size of needles 2. I don't have the right amount of yarn in any colour and 3. I would want to do it in acrylic (so it'd be easy to wash) and everything in my stash is wool. WELL, OKAY.
☆ Oh man, Arkona is releasing a new album in January... I gave a listen to the song currently available (Shtorm) and ahhh, it's so good. Most of the time, I don't much prefer metal with screaming, but Arkona is an exception - there's something about Masha's voice that really suits my taste, both when she sings clean and when she gets all screamy. Anyway, yeah, good track. Can hardly wait for the rest of the album to drop.
☆ I've been having a really nice extended conversation with someone on tumblr about South Slavic folklore/mythology and ahhh it's so good, and it's giving me so many ideas for fiction. <3 The Balkan stories about Marzanna/Morana are very different in some ways from the eastern/central folklore that I'd been reading about previously, so it's been really fun to discuss those and brainstorm plots based on them and so on. Yay!

story_works from now until Jan 31st. The challenge: Create a work (any work, any fandom) related to winter in some way, and post it. Fun! I might try to cook something up if I can manage to pull myself out of this "MUST KNIT ALL THE THINGS" mood.
