So, page 778.

I haven't cared all that much about Emil and Lalli's interactions for a while now - neither in gen nor ship context - but I'm starting to get interested again. Nothing a little bit of life-threatening horror to catch the eye, eh? 8) 8) 8)
I just. Holy shit. Hoooo-lyyyyy shit. Wow. What a dramatic moment! What a save attempt! What a... oh dear... Well, I have honestly no idea how they're going to get out of this, considering Lalli is incapacitated, the giant is practically on top of them, the ice is cracking, and Emil is a failboat.
If I'm honest, I'd be fine with both of them dying from this, as long as they both die; it would hit a particular part of my id juuuust right. (I've incorporated a similar thing with SSSS OCs at least once - Timo and Svitlana, going down against the dragon together! Though that was a slightly different situation of course.)
But the two surviving would be all right too - again, as long as they make it through together. Picking off just one of them would feel kind of eh.
Do I think they'll be able to rebuild a friendship after this? I dunno. Do I want some survival horror? FUCK YES. ...Good luck trying to get Lalli out of this, Emil; I'm attempting to imagine him carrying him out of this and... uh. I know the guy's lighter than your average dude, but... uh. Yeah. Goood luck with that.
Oh my god. I want... all the survival genfic. Of the variety where they both get out of the water/off the ice (somehow), and survive (somehow), and Lalli isn't completely incapacitated for all that long - maybe awake, but depowered and extremely weak? That would do. And the two of them trying desperately to survive in this horrible hellscape and eventually (hopefully) reunite with the rest of their company. *_*
Oh man... and the chapter isn't even over yet, technically. We've still got some pages left to go. ARRRGH, I'M SO IMPATIENT, I DON'T WANT TO WAIT. :D

I'm not as sanguine about the possibility of them dying as you are, but I do agree that if they die, I'd... probably rather that it was both of them, then just one.
