I HATE DRIVING.

And parking.

And highway driving.

And intersections.

And that thing where you're going 70 and SUDDENLY you have to go 35.

And parking.

And changing lanes.

And merging.

And parking.

...I should probably pay for another professional lesson, but ugh, money. And scheduling. And human interaction. And questions like "You seem nervous. Why?" Gee, I dunno, ma'am, it might be because I'm behind the wheel of a death machine. Just a guess.

I would love to have something nice and comforting to say, but I haven't drive since years now :/
It's your "key" to freedom. You will have your license, and after, well, you're free to drive only when you REALLY NEED to drive. You have all my compassion for these bad moments while learning, and I believe in you.

I think part of my frustration is that I keep encountering people (in real life) who just Do Not Get that yes, in fact, I do need more practice than most people, and no, I am NOT anywhere near ready for the test yet, are you fucking insane. Etc.

I'll manage it eventually, but ughhhhh. (Going to have to schedule another lesson for August, I think... Will have to check the calendar for a good time... hmmmm.)

A few weeks ago a colleague of my housemates was complaining about how many driving hours she had needed to obtain her license. She was thinking it was more than usual. Then I told her about me. She stopped complaining ^^°
We're not all the same. Some persons LOVE driving. For some others it's just okay. And there are also people who REALLY dislike that but do it because they have to. We're from the last group, I fear so...

Most people take driving far too lightly for something that can easily kill people if you're distracted for just half a second, idk. I get you. I don't have a licence and hope I'll never need one. Public transportation and walking have served me well so far. I have a ton of sympathy for fellow anxious people who *need* to drive. I honestly don't think I could do it (maybe with some medication).

If only the transport (or lack of it) didn't limit where I could live... ah, well.
One of the things that I really want to do in my life is take a road trip down to my favourite national park, and there's no way that's happening without a car. Gotta' keep my eye on the prize... xD

Ooh wow, that really sounds like a worthwhile goal :D Maybe keep a tiny picture of the national park with you when you drive, so you can look at it when frustrated, for inspiration and strength? (ONLY WHEN STATIONARY :D)

I'm lucky the living circumstances I've had up till now can afford me to go without needing a car ^^; because it's soooo easy to tell someone to "toughen up!" as if you aren't responsible for 1) something that costs a lot of money 2) the LIVES of yourself and the people you're driving
