New tarot deck :。・:*:・゚'☆
Feb. 19th, 2016 06:42 pmThe Pacific Rim tarot deck that I ordered aaaages ago finally came in! I'm so glad that I contributed to that crowdfunding project, because wow, is it ever nice.

So, here's what I received through the crowdfunding contribution. Book + spreadcloth + deck (in pouch) + postcard prints. And there is a second deck as well, which will be going to my pal
caffinatedstory.
The book is so much larger than I expected. Downside is, that makes it less portable than some tarot reference books. Upside, it shows off the artwork really nicely. They did a really good job with the card descriptions and so on as well; you can tell there was a lot of careful effort to tie everything in.
The Pacific Arcana deck is based on the Thoth deck, which is a bit different from the Rider Waite aesthetic that I'm used to, but that's all right. It brings even more newness to this. I think I'll have a lot of fun with these.

The cards are about the same size as my Rider Waite deck, which is nice. They look a little bit narrower, but I think that's just a trick of the styling. Super nice, though. The printing quality on the PacRim deck is amazing - the cards themselves, and even the box (which I didn't photograph) are printed on much sturdier card, and in higher print quality, than my RW deck, if I'll be quite honest.
I haven't done any readings with these yet... Right now I'm just, y'know, looking through them, getting a feel of them. Poking through the book. But it's entirely possible that I'll end up getting a lot of readings out of these, since they're so pretty and they fit in my hands nice ly. And AHH I just realized that the Kaidanovskys were chosen for all the Cups royalty cards. <3 Yes, good, excellent. (Favourite drift-compatible duo and favourite Tarot suit, I might be a bit biased.)
