So, someone out there is thinking of putting together a detective fiction exchange*. This is, of course, very relevant to my interests. Though I don't know if I would actually be able to write for it - except treats, maybe. I don't know. That's a genre I find really difficult, not just because I suck at plot, but also the characters specifically. But we'll see. I could try? Already considering stuff I could potentially request/write. Harry Hole series, definitely. Inspector Gamache, possibly? (Though I haven't read all the novels, really must fix that) ... I wonder if Anno 1790 would apply. Dåådh isn't exactly a detective, but by any other name....

OR maybe I'll just not participate, watch it like a hawk, and devour everything once the fics are posted. Very possible.

Mailed Mélusine's Christmas present today, which means that all of my SSSS-related Christmas obligations are taken care of (advent calendar, secret santa, personal exchange). Now I just have... my Christmas cards, those need to be taken care of. And Yuletide stuff. Hardly worked on any Yuletide today, which is a damn shame, I have so much adjusting to do. On the other hand, I did look at it, and it's not bad. But... yes.

I think Anno 1790 is probably okay if the term 'detective' can also include character-led historical police procedurals. It's a bit like the Cadfael mysteries, since there's little 'police' to speak of, but I don't know if the exchange would be restricted to private detectives who don't have official connections with the law enforcement of the day.

Though come to think of it, a historical police procedurals exchange would be fun, too.
