☆ I am such a femslash hipster. For some reason I never latch onto the well-liked pairings in popular series; I always find myself drawn to obscure pairings for stuff that doesn't really have fandoms. Lucie/Anna in Livide, Jannicke/Camilla in Fritt vilt II... The latest is Deadpan Allie/Fandango in Mindplayers. [/facepalm] I can't help it! Their dynamic is great! And Fandango is so cool! ... Oh, well. Time to put the idea away and let it incubate for a while. (Maybe I should request this for Yuletide? Well, I don't know if I'm doing Yuletide, but I might.)

☆ Watched The Blair Witch Project with the anonmeme group today. It was... interesting. I'd seen it once before, but on the second go-round, there are small things that I didn't catch before. ... Mainly how painfully '90s this film is, and how many bad decisions the characters make along the way, but you know. They wasted so much film! That would have been so expensive! But there were some parts that were pretty creepy even on the second go-round.

It's pretty interesting to take a look at it and compare it to more recent found-footage films, though. I think it works better than some of the films I've seen - the ones that take place in a location that isn't isolated, such as when the characters are filming in their own home. With the "kids lost in the woods" scenario, I can at least buy that they would make some of the bad decisions that they made, and that they would continue filming as some sort of... fear response. Hard to describe it. But with the "at home" kind of scenarios, I find it increasingly hard to believe that someone would continue filming, rather than getting the fuck out and doing something about it. Blair Witch works as found-footage because the characters are so isolated.

☆ I've been doing yoga a lot lately. Should have figured that this would be an easy way to handle the stiffness I get from my desk job. It doesn't take care of everything, but I at least feel better. And it's a nice way to clear the mind at the end of the day.
