Ended up buying the digital versions of Fall Out Boy's last two albums - American Beauty/American Psycho and Save Rock and Roll. I haven't heard much from that latter one, but the songs I have listened to, I've enjoyed. As for the former, I've heard most of it. Note to self: Don't lose track of what a band you like is doing; you'll feel so out of the loop.
It's nice to be able to enjoy a band that I used to like so much.
After that falling-out I had with so-and-so, I had trouble listening to FOB because that person enjoyed their music so much. I couldn't stand it, because their music reminded me of them. But, anyway. It was partly external factors that helped me find this band more palatable again... It kind of started with a nice Denmark/Norway fanart that someone I'm following drew based on the song "Centuries". This is the fanart. Their art isn't always my favourite, but when they hit the right note like they did here, they really hit it.
I guess it's kind of silly, but if that's what it takes to flip the switch from "ugh, this is music that jerk liked" to "oh, this is that band I like", then I'll take it.
Anyway. This week has been long and busy (though thankfully it's almost over), but this is one thing that made me really happy.

Date: 2015-02-26 02:26 pm (UTC)Centuries is a favorite song of mine as well. And it makes for some great track for some of my favorite AMVs. :)

Date: 2015-02-27 03:38 am (UTC)Favourite songs... From the American Beauty album, I love Fourth of July, Centuries, and Favourite Record. Especially in Favourite Record the chorus "You were the song stuck in my head, every song that I've ever loved" ... It pushes the right buttons somehow. xD
And from Save Rock and Roll, I like My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark, Save Rock and Roll, and Alone Together.
I can't decide if I prefer the newer or older albums... One thing that I've noticed is that the vocals have a more polished sound, and I do like that.
