I'm so glad that my work week is over. This week has been exhausting (though part of it has been my own fault. Not enough sleep). It turns out that I have Monday off, since it's a provincial holiday. I'm glad for that - it'll be nice.
It's starting to get lighter during the day, and I'm so pleased with it. This week has been really, brutally cold, and IIiiii just can't stand it.
I've been reading Tuchman's A Distant Mirror: The Calamitous 14th Century. It took a while for me to get into it, and I actually started it ages ago but put it down, but now that I'm into it again, I'm enjoying it quite a bit. The narrative is engaging once it gets going, at least. 14th-century France is a bit outside my area, so while I have some general knowledge of this and that, there's still a lot of stuff that's new to me. And I must say the battle descriptions are fascinating (and potentially useful as inspiration for writing purposes, but we'll see....)
Oh, and I finally watched Back to the Future. Sometimes I felt like the only person my age who'd never seen that film. It had to happen eventually. ;p I suppose I'll watch the sequels as well, just to get that done and off the to-do list. Since there is the four-day weekend, I'll have plenty of time to do that.

Date: 2015-02-14 04:23 am (UTC)Man, I can only imagine how cold your place is. I'm a lot farther south than you are, and our place is really cold too. We had a lot of snow...and it provided plenty of challenges. And it looks like we'll be getting more snow tomorrow.
