Irrelevant to anything
Nov. 12th, 2013 10:12 amOn another note, completely unrelated to that kvetching I was doing previously, while I was cleaning yesterday I found my yukata. I've been wondering for years where the heck I put that thing. Though it's a little weird that I own one in the first place.
It was a present during high school. Obviously my parents were like, "well, he likes Japanese stuff, let's get him a kimono :D " Because that makes perfect sense. [/facepalm] Though they do have an odd trend of getting me weird or fancy clothing that I can't wear anywhere.
Back then, I couldn't figure out why it seemed so damn short. But when I checked instructions last night on how to wear one of these things,I figured out why. Looks like the one I have was made for someone about five inches shorter than I am :V (and about 50 pounds lighter). Not to mention that it doesn't come with any kind of obi, just the koshi-himo.
I remember my mum insisting that it didn't matter if it was too short and that I could just wear it as a bathrobe. o_O "But ma, it's a yukata, not a-"

I dunno' what the point of this entry is, except that I'm kind of happy I found it. Though what the heck I'm going to do with it, I don't know; probably stuff it back into storage for another ten years. (I must confess that I'm a little disappointed that I can't get it to fit properly. It's the principle of the thing. I can't get rid of it, but I don't like having clothes that don't fit, either.)
