Wow, I've been exhausted for the last little while. Just as predicted, Thanksgiving weekend took a lot out of me, blech. BUT it was less of a headache than I expected; it was just the family so it wasn't too bad.

This weekend is... uh. Stressful so far, though. Seriously, my stress is at like, 11, when it should be at about a 3. Wonderful. :| BUT I'm going to watch Ringu tonight with some people from the meme so it should end on an okay note, I think. (But damn, I had so many plans today, and they all fell through because of family getting in my way. Wonderful. :| )

I'm now officially halfway through Les Miserables, which is awesome. I definitely need to read pieces of it more often, though; it's taking longer for me to read it than I would like. So far I'm enjoying it more than expected, and the digressions aren't a problem (Yes, even Waterloo), and... yeah, it's pretty good. Though I really look forward to getting to the part where Enjolras and Co show up, because then I'll finally know why all my friends are flailing over those characters. (As for me, my favourite's still the Bishop) (Well, and Valjean too)

Watched Poltergeist the other day. It's nice watching old horror movies and whatnot because often I come out of it with a better understanding of where such-and-such pop culture reference comes from, and what it's about in the context of the film. Heh. To be honest, that's partly why I watch older films at all. ... Though only partly. The rest of it is that they're often good. As far as Poltergeist goes though... ehhhhh I'd say, the first hour and a half were pretty decent, and had some parts that were pretty creepy, heh. But then the last half hour was dumb as hell, completely unnecessary, and just... bleh. TOO MUCH SCREAMING. TOO MANY HORRIBLE SPECIAL EFFECTS. And just plain extraneous; everything was wrapped up all nice and then -- BLAH. It feels like it was tacked on as an excuse to do sequels.

Anyway. Tomorrow, I'm going to try to make my way downtown pretty early in the day; I have an appointment I need to attend to, but it isn't until 3, so if I leave at 10 that means I'll have a good chunk of the day where I can just sit in a cafe and write. Though the question is whether to bring my netbook (doable, but heavy after a while), or bring my notebook (light, but I'm only writing the Trolljegeren crossover in it) or do that thing where I copy onto paper the last couple of paragraphs of a fic that's on computer, and just scribble by hand... Who knows. >3>
