You and me could write a rad bromance
Jan. 8th, 2010 12:08 amToday was, uh, interesting.
By "interesting", what I really mean is, WHAT THE FUCK.
Okay, so here's what happened: Woke up, had breakfast while talking to Minako as per usual, yaddayadda. Endured her teasing me about the drunken nonsense I typed at her during the small hours last night. A quick check told me that it was going to be cold as shit outside, but I had to go out and do things, so... I did.
Now, my apartment had been unusually cold all morning, and when I checked the radiator, I found that it was cool. In other words, not working. When I stepped outside my apartment door I found that the building's foyer was covered in water and ice. There was water dripping from the ceiling. The door was practically frozen shut. Lovely. Went down to the basement, and found an inch of water at the foot of the stairs.
Uh... huh.
Well, I figured that maintenance had already been informed about it, because judging by the ice in the foyer it had been that way for a while, and surely other people had noticed it when going in and out. So I went to do my stuff. But when I got back, nothing had been done, so I called maintenance. They showed up at around 6 o'clock. :| :| :|
So they took care of the ice, and somehow got the furnace working a bit. But after they left, the fire alarm kept going off for no good reason. Connected to the boiler, somehow.
FUCK. CRAP GODDAMNIT SONOVABITCH. This is the same sort of shit that kept happening last year around this time, goddamn.
....Sigh. And I really have no idea how long it will take for them to fix the foyer up, and I don't know if there's something wrong with the furnace and if I should be worried or not. Right now I have my heater going, but I'm sure that if I didn't the house would be very cold. I'm worried about the pipes freezing. Maybe I'll just leave it on all night.
On a much lighter note, I bought a carrybag for my netbook. It's heavy-duty, one of those Swissgear ones, but it's small and cute and no matter HOW much I bang it around, I doubt I'll wear this thing out. THIS IS GOOD because I am so hard on like, everything I own. Never give me anything nice, ever, because I am sure to ruin it somehow. :|

Date: 2010-01-09 07:01 pm (UTC)But I know how you feel about the ice and water. Our front door...doesn't quite fit its frame, so there's about a half-inch wide gap at the bottom where water and ice and all sorts of nasty shit builds up inside. But then, it's not like it actually floods it or anything.
You need better maintenance people! :<
And isn't it nice to have rough love-resistant stuff?
