An entry about nothing
Dec. 28th, 2009 02:01 amWell! The past few days have been pretty busy. I'm glad that most of the fuss is over, to be honest. Christmas Day was full of running around, trying to get things done. Mum woke me up super-early so that we could open gifts, and then the rest of the day was spent cleaning up and preparing dinner. My brother came over again, and brought with him the people who are living with him (his girlfriend, girlfriend's brother and his SO.... I really have no idea why the hell they were here). Then Leon and his wife showed up, and there were just way too many people in the house for my taste. With Leon it's all right; we sort of know each other, and spent some time talking about soccer and about the courtroom (he's a defence lawyer). But when it came to the other people it's like... Ugh, I don't even know. Mum kept pushing me to associate with them because we're close in age, but it's difficult when it's people I neither know nor care about - and in the case of my brother's girlfriend, someone I don't like.
But all the fuss aside, Christmas Day went pretty well I suppose, though not as well as some years have been. Opening gifts was a bit awkward, but mostly just for me I think. I felt a little bit bad, because I only got my parents one gift each because money has been tight for me. They, on the other hand, gave me many small things - and after a while, small things do add up, in terms of money. Oh, well. I did receive the cooking utensils I needed, which was a surprise because mum usually is against giving practical things. Some other things as well - seasons 1 and 2 of Rome, a DVD player, and a very nice fleece blanket. I got a lot of money from my more distant relatives, which was a relief. I'll be good for groceries for a while, and there's even enough that I'll be able to put some of it away to save for the Finland trip.
Boxing Day was better. Much less running around and craziness. The highlight of my day was going down to the mall to buy some new moccasins, as I didn't get a pair for Christmas. I might have been able to find them for a slightly better price in Saskatoon, but I was just so fed up with my old ones, damnit. Falling apart, they were. 8| So, there's that.
I did absolutely nothing today. Well, scratch that - I finally broke in my Poland RP account. Yesssss. Playing felt so good, oh my god. 8D .... Though now that I think of it, I don't know if it's only because it felt good, or if part of it was because of the fact that I was downing some coffee 'n Baileys at the time, hah. Oh, well. Anyway, next few days should be relaxation, RP, and hopefully updating the Baltic index. w00t.

Date: 2009-12-28 07:34 pm (UTC)Anyway - I played in nerd_attack's streaking thread, pffffft. It seemed as good an opportunity as any. I've been meaning to play for aaaages but it's only now that I've gotten around to actually doing it, saaaa.
I'm supposed to go back home on January 2nd. Right now we're a bit concerned; storms and drama in the US have caused a lot of flight delays in North America and right now things are very delayed and backed up - but we're hoping by the time I go home, things will be running more smoothly again.

Date: 2009-12-28 08:22 pm (UTC)What I mean is, sometimes I play one character a lot, and then the other hardly at all. I've been playing Norway for a while, but haven't been playing Estonia, and now I've kind of forgotten how to play him, hurr.
