Hi guys. Sorry for that little flip-out last night. I'm feeling better now.
I'm really exhausted. Gonna try to make this short.
Couldn't sleep last night. I had a dentist appointment this morning so I intended to get up early enough to shower and such before that. But after the alarm went off, I went right back to sleep. I jolted awake at 9:50 (my appointment was for 10) and scrambled to get dressed and run to the clinic. Luckily the building is located right beside my apartment.
I was lucky. No cavities this time. My teeth are prone to them - soft teeth, acidic mouth - but looks like I got lucky. They say the wisdom teeth will have to come out, but nothing to worry about just yet. The only thing I'm concerned about right now is the insurance - I have to mail forms to mum and such, get her to sign some things. It's a pain. Because the office doesn't direct-bill with out of province, the thing is technically on my credit card until we can get everything sorted out. Lovely. $300 isn't too bad, but still, argharghargh.
In happier news, a store opened downtown that sells Demeter cologne. Ohoho! This stuff is hard to find on the shelf in Canada, so I'm rather happy about that. Just gonna have to make sure I don't spend squillions. Nngh, their stuff is so good though, and it'll be nice to not have to pay shipping, though of course they won't have all the scents there...
Nngh. Tired. Bed now. Though I think I might read in the tub first. I'm making my way through Margaret Lawrence's The Diviners right now, and so far it's pretty okay.
OH. BEFORE I FORGET. I've been listening to Keane's "Crystal Ball" over and over in the past few days. I just love this song so much. Sooo I decided to share it with you guys. Download is here.

Date: 2009-09-04 06:18 pm (UTC)My parents wanted me to go into dentistry, but I was like, HELL NO. Wouldn't want to make a living out of sticking my fingers in the mouths of nervous people.

Date: 2009-09-04 04:45 am (UTC)That's a good thing. The dentist always yells at me that I have "danger zones" and such and then "floss and it might help if you're lucky."
I had to get 4 cavities drilled in one round last time...

Date: 2009-09-04 05:04 am (UTC)That said, I get away with going to the dentist just once a year, but I am terrified by the thought of wisdom teeth ;A;

Date: 2009-09-04 05:55 am (UTC)I have to go bi-annually. Lovely. But at least that way we can catch stuff before it happens.
I'm not too worried about the whole wisdom teeth thing. Apparently mine aren't impacted too badly (?) so taking them out won't be much of an issue.

Date: 2009-09-04 06:02 am (UTC)I used to not go for years but I'm trying to go at least once a year now. At least I get discounts and I've not needed anything more than some cleaning and polishing so the bill's not too bad.
My eyes on the other hand...Idk, it's just the idea of huge, alien teeth bursting through my gums, and having to extract them and all the blood and drugs and stitches and pain auuuurrrggghh.

Date: 2009-09-04 06:16 pm (UTC)Huge alien teeth bursting out, eh? xD Well, don't worry, because it's not like that. Er, at least, in my case, the gum was a little sore for a few days, and then it was gone... and then over a few months the teeth became exposed. It's not a sudden thing.
The removal, now, that makes me a little bit nervous, but that's largely because I've never had any sort of removal or surgical procedure whatsoever, never needed stitches or anything - so, it's the unfamiliarity that makes me uneasy.
