Well. I'll get the story done tonight, but argharghargh. I was hoping to have it finished earlier.

On a more positive note, I finished Life of Pi last night. It was a good read. Not the best novel I've ever read, but enjoyable nonetheless. I'll probably move on to something else tonight, after I finish the story.

I spent most of this afternoon crawling over rocks by the river in the heat. Whew. But I got lots of graffiti photographs, including some shots of the mysterious Swedish flag.

I don't really have anything else to say. Today has been very very very blah. Sob.

Hah, not my first time; I've done it quite a bit before, but mostly just scarves (it's hard to find stuff that's long and thick enough for winters like ours... best just to make yer own)

I can't knit either. In 4th grade we had to knit like, squares for a quilt. MY SQUARE WAS THE ONLY SQUARE THAT DIDN'T MAKE IT ON THE FINISHED QUILT.

The draft is finished! Now I just need to type it up and smooth out the text.

Writing on a deadline is exhausting, but rewarding when I manage it. Fortunately for me, my deadline fics tend to be short, so usually having them finished in time is not a huge problem.

As for Latvia, he is a PAIN IN THE BUTT - however, I think I managed to get him down well enough to do for this story.

Agh, I always freeze up when I have a deadline to work with and my writing comes out all stilted and gross. Sometimes the pressure helps, though! (this fucking fic, argh. It started as dialogue exercises and then something happened and it wants to be LONG now and alksdjfffffff idk anymore)

Good to hear that--practice makes perfect, perhaps? Although I'd totally understand if you didn't want to put yourself through writing Latvia again.

Writer's block D: Oh no~! (Don't delete stuff! That's awful! Because you might come back later and realize you like what you wrote...) I hope you are able to break it soon. To be honest, I still have my block, but I wanted to write this so badly that I just went and did it. So there we are.

And yes, the graffiti is mostly in English, except for one which is in Japanese. I think. There is not a lot of French graffiti in this area.

It is one of those novels that I think a lot of people like and a lot of people dislike... My mother could not finish it; she did not like it at all. I did enjoy it, mostly, though I did not like some parts of it.

I guess so since it's a best seller but everyone I knows hates it. So I was actually quite surprised that you enjoyed it. Which parts did you not like?

Some parts - toward the end - veered off from a storyline that was fantastical but believable into the realm of the totally bizarre. At that point I was just left thinking "wtf". That's the part I didn't like, really.
