Today is a good day.
Aug. 19th, 2009 03:51 pmRighto. So.
I woke up late this morning, stared at the ceiling quite a while, then managed to drag myself out of bed. My house is a mess - as it always tends to be after I have a guest - but it's a mess that will easily be cleaned up, so I don't mind too much. It's mostly a matter of putting things in their place and, uh, doing laundry. Yep. And deflating the mattress. Started that, but it sure takes a while....
In extremely happy news, I received mail from
ninja_minni today. Eee~ It really made my day! Ahhh she drew me some adorable Est&Fin, eee~ So, tomorrow I'm going to need to go to the dollarstore so that I can get a cover for it, so that I can put it up without damaging it. But, no biggie, since I planned to go to that part of the city any way (there's a volume or two at the used book store that I want to snag).
I have a lot of things I want to do this evening - cleaning, some research, and I want to get some reading done - so I don't know if I'll be around much, though I probably will be on AIM. Hard to tell. [Edit: Dur, don't forget, need to reply to tl;dr anon as well....]
Tonight, as I mentioned, I'm going to do research. Since the Baltic Way story is going to be relatively short and I already pretty much know how it went, I won't need to read too in-depth, but I still need a refresher because it's been a while. Wikipedia + a glance through my Baltic States book + watching that documentary on the Singing Revolution should do it. I also need to solidify how I'm going to write it and the progression of events and so on, but I'm pretty much done that. I think I can write it tomorrow.
Then, there's also something unrelated. I recently wrote a drabble for
cher_arlequin that would work quite well as an introduction to "Tea and Memories". I think that if I smooth it out and streamline it until it is prose-poetry, I have a feeling it would be excellent that way. So, after the Baltic Way fic is done, I'm going to try that and see how it turns out. If it works out well, I'll probably post it somewhere. Not sure where. Maybe the main comm. Maybe Kalmarunionen. It's been ages since I last posted somewhere; might as well do it now.
