PSA: BRB, disappearin' for a week
Aug. 11th, 2009 01:21 pmFirst, on an unrelated note: Road excavation reveals an early medieval mill site in Ireland
Now. As I've mentioned several times in the last week, Sab is arriving tonight. So what this means is that I obviously won't be around much at all until she leaves. Good times. I'm sure y'all won't miss my tl;dr entries about doing laundry. ;p
I'm trying to catch up on my FList - there are several entries I need to comment on, ahhhhh - but it's slow going. Gonna' try to do it before she gets here, though.
I hardly slept a wink last night. Lovely. Also, I discovered that there is something wrong with the laundry machines AGAIN. It got my clothes clean sure enough, but it also flooded the basement. Um. Lovely. I am very Not Impressed by this, naturally. Gods, you know, there have been so many problems with this building that I really do consider moving... but it would be too inconvenient. Even so, I guess I should keep my eye out.
Aside from that, yesterday was all right. I wrote some fic (rather, finished an old thing). Now it's just the editing, argh...

Date: 2009-08-11 10:35 pm (UTC)But in any case, it was just a little flood, so I'm not too worried about it. Mostly annoyed. Sigh, maintenance does absolutely nothing here...

Date: 2009-08-11 10:33 pm (UTC)Yeahhh I dunno. I guess I'll have to give maintenance a call. Sigh. :| I'd just take it to the laundromat like everyone else in my building does, but I don't have a vehicle...

Date: 2009-08-11 10:37 pm (UTC)Maintenance might not be a bad idea, orz.
As for the laundromat, is there anyone with a vehicle you can prod into taking you? :D Or you could plan a long, long, LONG explore one day and pretend it's some demon form of excercise ;3;

Date: 2009-08-12 03:07 am (UTC)omg when I lived on campus last year my room was in the basement and it seemed like EVERY MONTH one of the machines would break and leak water out the door. Luckily it never really flooded (or I would have cried) but the carpet smelled so gross. :(

Don't worry about the lack of sleep. I'll be fine. 8D Things are getting a little bit more back to normal now.
And the flooded basement is very wat. I am NOT PLEASED.

Date: 2009-08-13 12:04 am (UTC)AND YES sometimes I post late, but that is because I can't sleep. But I'm getting better at sleeping. So, there we are.

Date: 2009-08-13 12:11 am (UTC)Also, that unrelated note amuses me very much. wtf, Captcha. (Which fic was it, by the way? Just out of curiosity)
And speaking of fic, I've been working on some - nearly finished - so when I have time again to do some editing, it won't be long before I'll have something new posted, yay~ This pleases me.
Re: Icon: Obligatory
Date: 2009-08-13 12:56 am (UTC)As for the fic(s) that I am nearly finished, hmmm... the one that is nearly-finished as of... recently is an Est/Fin. In this one there is a focus on trust; I took the idea of spectacles representing parts of the land (I.E. America's glasses = Texas) and went on with that idea - illustrating that trust by having him allow Finland to handle his spectacles (in my headcanon, the glasses = Tartu)
Another I finished recently, but still need to finish typing up and editing, is a Can/Nor, just a quiet moment with some romance and stuff. I wanted to do something set in the middle of nowhere, so they're out camping in the Canadian wilderness.
There are a few others, but those are the main ones I've been working on recently.
