Nah, it's okay, stuff happens! I'm just glad you did get around to it eventually. I've been feeling very blah and tired and lazy and not-social myself, too, so I think I know where you're coming from.

AHH that work practice thing sounds definitely stressful, but if it works out it could be great. It'll be difficult but I'm sure you can do it! Believe in me who believes in you! ;D

Anyway, my holidays are going great so far, though I need to do a bit more shopping I think. I joined about a million exchanges (well, okay, only a couple) and then added extra stuff on top of that so I'm verrry busy giftfic-wise, but it feels good. Probably not going to be doing anything special at christmas, just the usual stuff.

It is so stressful but I'm gonna apply at a cafe or the library probably!! Also omg Yuu I'm so happy, today our teacher gave us an article on Jean Sibelius to read (today's his birthday so it's a semi-holiday in Finland) and gave us the choice to read the easier article or the harder one. I chose the harder to challenge myself, and it wasn't even that super difficult, and in the end she said if we could read the easier one, we were probably about level B 1.1 and the harder was B 1.2! I was at A 2.2 in the end of October, so I'm so happy I could cry!! (I'm assuming you're familiar with the language level system? if you're not familar: http://www.deutsch-als-fremdsprache.org/en/faq/323-what-does-language-level-a1-a2-b1-b2-c1-and-c2-mean.html )

Ooooh yes, gotta get the old fic factory pumpin! I didn't join any exchanges but I'm having fun thinking of stuff to send people back home, and I can't wait to impress Hanna's parents with my language ability, the last time they spoke to me in summer I was a wee Finnish baby.

I wrote too much. And now I want to do anything but write. Guhhh [/collapses] And I still have a little bit of RL christmas shopping to do... this season is exhausting.

D: AHH YES her parents will be so impressed though, if you've learned so much! Though how is your reading vs speaking? I find one tends to be easier than the other....

Yeah I go to school every day for several hours! And then I speak it at the post office and grocery store and everywhere else too, I only really use english when I'm with friends but not with cashiers and stuff. It really throws them off because sometimes they hear us speaking english so the waitress or cashier will think they have to ask me stuff in english and i'm like 'oh oh haha voit puhua suomea! mä ymmärrän suomea!!' (you can speak finnish, i understand finnish!) but i'm getting pretty good, i can understand a good bit of like, moomin cartoons and stuff now. like i might not know some vocabulary but i know the general idea and i understand the grammar/structure!

there's such a thing as writing too much??? no go go yuu, you can do it! finish all the fics! honestly my speaking is understandable but still full of mistakes sometimes haha. reading i'm good at too usually, it's writing and understanding that are hardest. writing is like, my spelling is still horrid )': hearing is hard because sometimes i understand what they mean but i'm unsure if i heard right, or i hear wrong and miss an important word that changes the context of something. and then there are people who babble on and i can't catch anything so i just smile and nod lmao......(i need to sharpen myself, i'm getting a lot better but i'm going to try to take the kansalaisuus test in april because school will pay the exam fee that way. i can't turn in the results if i pass yet, but once i've been here for 4 years that passing test grade will be the 'admit 1 for dual citizenship'!! ;) but you need at least 1 form of communication to people and one of understanding, i.e. if you can listen and write or read and speak well, that's good, but if you can only listen and read or write and speak, you fail because those don't work as both-way communication. )

and yeah lol my parents will be getting new years cards probably...whoopsies! they won't mind though, i'll skype with them on xmas anyway. (after i take my turn in xmas sauna, of course.)

ANYWAY it's been... almost three years... and I have no idea what you might be up to now, but I hope that things are still going well for you. <3

It's actually going really well! Also three years? Wow, time really flies huh. But I'm nearly graduated from nursing school (next year, December) and I have done a few internships for school in Finnish hospitals. If you're ever in Helsinki, hit me up lol! But I hope things are going well for you too. <3

Ahh almost graduated? That's wonderful! I'm so glad you're doing successfully over there.

Things are going pretty good for me. I have a drivers license now (big accomplishment, it was hard). And I fulfilled a nerdy dream by going to Eurovision live in Sweden. ;)

It's possible I might drop by Helsinki in the next few years - who knows! - so I might very well send you a message if that happens. Maybe we could get coffee or something. (Or... considering Finnish coffee... maybe not coffee. ;p )

omg so you got to go, that's so cool! was it the one in malmö? i had friends who lived there who were excited about it! and a driver's license! ugh i know how nervewracking that is, congrats!!
