Date: 2010-01-29 10:21 pm (UTC)Poland turned to look at him, a look of surprise on his face. "No! I mean, like, you don't have to have a reason to come over, okay? You could, like, just come over and hang out and show me some of those games you play." His voice trailed off and he looked down, hands fidgeting with the hems of his shirt. "I'm not really, seriously angry. Idiot."
Seconds passed in silence. Estonia felt like he should say something. "I, uh, what?"
Poland looked up at him, his expression a mixture of exasperation and embarassment. "Look, just forget I said anything." He began pushing Estonia towards the front door. "Just, just go back now. Urgh, this is so not cool."
Estonia managed to snag his coat and bag before Poland pushed him out the doorway, "Wait, Poland, let me say somethi- woah!" He stumbled down the doorstep, catching his balance at the last minute. He turned back just in time to hear Poland shout "Goodbye!" and slam the door shut in his face.
Estonia went up and knocked on the door. "Hey, Poland? Hey!"
"Go back already!" Poland shouted back, voice muffled by the closed door.
Estonia knocked once more before giving up. "Look, I'll... I'll come by on Saturday, is that alright with you? I'll fix your laptop and then maybe I'll show you some of the games I play, but only if you really want me to, of course, and then maybe, uh, maybe we can go out and look at the shops and have dinner somewhere."
There was silence. Then the door cracked open and Poland's head peeked out just far enough for Estonia to see that his cheeks were flushed.
"Okay," Poland said, his voice barely audible. "Uh, I... Never mind, I'll see you on Saturday!" The door slammed shut again.
There was silence. Then Estonia's phone buzzed. He took it out to see a message from Poland- 'Thanks for coming today'. Estonia smiled, pocketed his phone and set off for home, humming cheerfully to himself.
