Music, weather and baking

yuuagoMan. I'd forgotten how much I like Keane. Though I must say, their "Hopes and Fears" album was much better than "Under the Iron Sea". I still haven't heard their newish album; perhaps I should check it out... anyway, for the longest time I just plain couldn't stand to listen to them because of memories of the ex. Guh. Well, I'm slowly getting my music back. It's a good feeling!
Stayed up far too late again, and slept in too much. Mm, but it's the weekend, so it doesn't matter so much. Might go out and about after I finish some domestic things; I dunno.
Apparently it is (was?) snowing in Medicine Hat today. Crazy stuff. Weather network says it's only 8C in S'Toon right now. What on earth has happened to the summer? It's been so grey and cloudy and chilly these past couple days. I know a month or two ago I was going on about how I wanted to plant some flowers in the back courtyard. Now, I'm glad that I haven't gotten around to doing that. I wouldn't trust flowers to do well in this weather.
Sigh. I do so miss gardening, though. Man, I wish I was able to do myself up a windowbox or something. Unfortunately I don't have a balcony or anything, and with the way my windows are, I can't hang one. Sigh. I'm kind of jealous of the guy above me - he (she?) has a little balcony or fire escape or something, and I see they've got some tomato plants growing, and a windowbox or two up there, with geraniums growing. 's nice. I don't like the way geraniums smell, but the bright red ones are sure pretty.
I have half a mind to do some baking tonight. It all depends on whether I finish the other things I need to do, though. For some reason, my plain cakes never turn out quite right when I'm back home - they end up too dry. Only the fancy stuff, like the cherrycake and so on, turns out. But here, my white cake turns out nice... maybe it's the elevation, or the different stove, or something. Hmm. I still haven't gotten the hang of making frosting, though. No matter what, it just doesn't have the same texture as it does when my mum makes it. Still tastes good, and pretty much the same, but mine's fluffier somehow. Not quite right.
Aside from that, I've come to the realization that people are very strange, and like to stalk me. I don't mind, but I do find it very baffling. ♥ Seriously you guys, just add me! Or talk to me, at least! (Anonymous comments are always, always enabled here). I don't bite, 'struth! And I like making new friends.
