May. 27th, 2009 11:45 amToday is nice and sunny, and my camera battery is fully charged, so hopefully today I'll be able to get some nice photos! This whole "getting pictures" thing has been more difficult than I thought, hah. But hopefully today I shall be successful~
I had a hard time sleeping last night, but I did get some sleep, so... there is that. I imagine that by the time the evening rolls around I will be very tired, but that's fine. Perhaps I'll read some of my Finland book before bed.
Today shall prove to be dull, but that's all right. Need to do some boring errands. Pay the bills, get some groceries. And cleaning and laundry and so on. Boring adult stuff. Mm, and I made a cake last night - from scratch, of course. Need to make some frosting for it. Mm, frosting~ It'll be blue. With sprinkles. Yes. Because when I was at home, mum would never let me make the frosting blue, y'see. She thought it was too weird, hah.
I hear some construction going on in the basement again. When I went down to do some laundry yesterday, I saw that they'd put some more holes in the drywall. By accident, you see. Sigh. And of course, those probably won't be fixed. Not that it's important, but it's certainly a bit ridiculous. And the hallway still hasn't been swept.
Ugh. I'm kind of lonely and cranky right now. I could really use a good snog. :| Anyone wanna' come to Saskatoon and help me out? Heh.
Blahhh. Fic-wise, I'm kind of flailing. I have so many that I'm technically writing for other people, and I'm having trouble keeping track. So I'm going to write it out in a list here so I don't forget:
-Swe/Nor, 1814 union [Started, in-progress, also researching]
-Post-WWII Can/Pol [not started, mentally sketching plot, researching]
-Den/Est, 13th-century [not started, sketching plot, research is ongoing/continuation of general Estonia research]
-Can/Pol sequel to "Friday Afternoon in D.C." [not started, plot is mostly figured out, no research necessary]
Unfortunately these are all going to be rather long, because they all have some form of plot. I'm not sure how long, but I wouldn't be surprised if at least one of them was as long as "Starry Night" (18 pages).
Sigh. Oh well. Writing is fun. ♥

Date: 2009-05-27 06:30 pm (UTC)Well... I can't give you a good snog, but how about a few good SONGS instead? Yes, I replace the emotional void in my life with music, and so, feeling your pain, I'm going to share some with you. Not the pain, the, I mean, the, the... mus-- Oh let's just get on with it.
Well, this isn't exactly cheerful, but this song always helps me whenever I'm a little moody:
What a wonderful world (Louis Armstrong/Kenny G) (http://mouseridingox.lupous.net/random/Louis_Armstrong_&_Kenny_G_-_What_a_Wonderful_World.mp3) Downloadable MP3 from my music collection.
Ever watched the Chipmunks Adventure (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yW6TiZlwMBU)? We're Off to see the World is another song that puts my heart in the right places. Beware high pitched singing.
That last, triumphant musical number (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9iSdIMJK2o) in Moulin Rouge may also be for you. Beware spoilers.
I found this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTudY1vg_qA) through the P4 fandom, though I'm pretty sure the song is not from P4, but still, it's cheerful stuff.
All the old Slayers opening songs (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QDH6InC1PPA) are addictive and fun, and give a nice heaping punch of energy for any gray day.
This is OLD but this AMV (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSAYvMQWIXc) from back in the days before youtube had a way of cheering me up too.
This remix of Mother Earth/Eight Melodies (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gt-FCrd2ipY) from the Mother games is also rather soothing to listen to.
Talking about Earthbound, this remix of several songs of the game (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_c4uTM4pBM) is catchy on a good few levels. Even if you haven't played it, it may be a cheer-upper.
There's this piece from the Enchanted Soundtrack (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eIofSVnpYoE) too that is also rather adorable, if you ask me. And the world can call me whatever they want, but I love old Disney princess songs. A Dream is a wish your Heart makes (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KhTjnzlcIeI), damn it.
Of course there's always this. (http://mouseridingox.lupous.net/random/10%20Enormous%20Penis.mp3)
