Today is full of fail thus far, but perhaps later on I shall redeem myself. :| We will see.

Hmm, tonight I need to do some cleaning and some other things...

-Laundry
-Tidying
-vacuum oh dear gods do I ever...
-And the floor could use a good washing, too.

Yesterday, I heard some people who live in the apartment building talking in the hall. They were discussing the laundry room - something about it being broken? Well, I know for certain that one of the washing machines does not work, and there seems to be issue with one of the dryers. If the second washing machine has broken down, dear gods, I think I might have to murder someone. If I recall correctly, there is a laundromat on Broadway, but it's quite a ways down the street. No way am I walking all the way down there carrying my laundry basket. :| If I had a car it would be different, but... I don't.

Sometimes the lack of maintenance here really pisses me off. You know, I don't think they've cleaned the hallways since I moved in. :| I'm tempted to go do a bit of sweeping in the main hallway on the weekend. Just a little, mind. On the other hand, I don't want to send them the message that I will clean -- then again, on the third hand, they don't clean it anyway, so. Ah. Yes.

It's a bright and cheery day today, and I think I shall spend much of the early evening outside. Perhaps I will go to the Roastery....

What else is new. Well, I wrote a little fairy tale thing last night. Here: The Man Who Sang The Wind. The characters are very, very loosely based off Estonia and Denmark.

There used to be this really nice girl who did all the cleaning in halls where I live, bud sadly she moved away and now no one cleans. (Since I'm moving this summer I never do any work there, I'm so lazy!)
About the only thing I don't miss from the old place I lived is the laundry room, there would always be something broken and the washing machines would be taken, even though we had reserved them.

That fairytale was so beautiful, and very true to the genre.

You have a gift for the fairy tale style, you know? Despite it being cast off as "for children", fairy tales are actually pretty complex, leaving a lot to the imagination, relying on smart use of words and on conveying, in simple terms, powerful concepts and ideas. It's not easy, and I take off my hat to that wonderful story you wrote just there.

Also I love the description of Not-Quite-Denmark as the Man with the Wolf-Like grin. It's VERY apt!

Anyway, we haven't talked for a while, so I decided to come by and say hello! Looks like your building is still being a maintenance hell, huh? First there was the heat months ago, and now this. I hope the cleaning went well!
