May. 15th, 2009 12:59 pmStill don't feel very well. Mm.
I had a ton of things I wanted to say, but now that I really think of it, it all sounds like whining. Best avoid that, certainly; I whine too much. So, I'll just talk about some positive things for a while.
It's nice and sunny out today. All the snow has melted and it looks like that whole thing never happened, thank the gods. Ugh. Snow in May, I can't believe it....
I saw tulips growing in someone's garden yesterday! Spring is finally, finally here, it's true!
"L'anse Aux Memory" just needs a little bit more tweaking - just a little bit more. It'll definitely be ready to be posted in the early morning on the 17th, which makes me happy.
I received a package notice from the post office. This probably means that my box from Amazon is already here. That was fast! Usually it takes about a week. Unusual. I mean, it can't be anything else; I haven't been expecting anything else - so it's gotta' be my Moomin book. Heeeee. Perhaps I'll take a bath tonight and read my cute little comics in the tub.
My sleeping patterns are very, very slowly getting back to something resembling normal behaviour. This is good, very good. But I need to try harder. It just requires self-discipline. Surely I can do that, surely.
I found cherries at the supermarket yesterday! Cherries! Fresh ones! Ahhh, yes, yes the nice weather is here, this is proof....
And, eh, what else. Oh. I'm nearly finished working on my Est/Fin FST. You know, it's incredibly difficult to try to cram just under 1000 years of history into one FST. What on earth was I thinking. xD Mm, but these two, I just can't resist to start from the beginning. Ahh....
Anyway. That's all for now. Perhaps I will have a better update tonight.

Date: 2009-05-15 08:08 pm (UTC)I've only read the first volume of the moomin commics and I loved it! It's somewhat different from the books as well, hopefully I will be able to buy the next one in Swedish next time I go to Sweden!
You like Sigur Rós?! I LOVE that band!

Date: 2009-05-15 08:21 pm (UTC)Thus far I have only read the first volume of Moomin comics as well - that was last year, when I was taking a course on comics as literature. When I moved I had to sell all my books, especially schoolbooks (comics included!) so now I have to slowly re-build my collection again. This is just the beginning~! I haven't had a chance to read the little novels - such things are not easy to come by here - but I hope I shall at some point.
As for Sigur Ros, I am completely in love with them! I was startled to discover that their music is easy to find in my area, because it's highly unusual to find music that isn't in English. Ah, they have stolen my heart~ But for years listening to them was difficult because I couldn't play it on the stereo when my parents were home. They complained that it sounded like whales singing, pfff. Thankfully I no longer live with them~
On a side note, it's so strange to hear someone say they will do something the next time they will go to such-and-such country, speaking the same way we would when we say we will go to such-and-such province. The thought of going to another country brings to mind images of very very long flights and very very high expense, hah. I suppose it is just startling to remember that everything in Europe is so... small. And close-together.

Date: 2009-05-15 08:39 pm (UTC)You poor thing. It was actually my father who introduced me to Sigur Rós, he would play svefn-g-englar to me when I had trouble sleeping!
I saw them live last summer, and I still can't find the words to describe it!
Going to Sweden is a bit more than a two hour drive from where I live. But there are so many Norwegians going to Sweden to buy cheap meat and stuff that you would have to drive longer than that to be in a part of Sweden where there actually lives Swedes xD
Every time I look at a map I can't help but marvel at how tiny Europe is.
