You know, I fucking hate this building, but I love the other tenants. I have no idea who is blasting heavy metal - but who it is doesn't matter. What matters is that someone is playing Rush, and it makes me immensely happy.
*headbangs*
The day I moved here, someone was blasting Apocalyptica. I knew I would love these people. ♥
(Mind, if it was evening I'd be pissed, but it's the afternoon, so everything is fair game)
Uh... crap, what was I going to say?
ANYWAY. It is delightfully bright out today! I'm going to have an early supper and then go work at the Roastery. Yes!
Also, I discovered, much to my pleasure, that I possibly have a place to stay if my building blows up. Good!
Y'all might think I am exaggerating when I talk about the building exploding, but I am not. Let me explain. It nearly exploded before; the night when the heat had to be turned off, the boiler overheated. I cannot explain it, because I'm not quite sure how it works, but basically it heated to the point where the safety couldn't turn it off, and would have blown up if Steph (my neighbour) hadn't run down and turned off the machine. He said that when he was talking to the firefighters (because we had to call them that night; the fire alarm had gone off again as a result of the boiler malfunction) they said that it was bloody stupid of him to do that, as he could have gotten killed, but they did admit that the building would've blown if he hadn't done it.
...
I'd like to take this moment to say that my apartment is right above the boiler room. *cringe*
Anyway. Steph says, he is very worried. He's afraid that the people putting in the boiler don't know what they're doing (apparently the people they hire tend to be rather sketchy). From what I have seen of previous repairs, I would not be surprised if he is right. Anyway, when we were talking he went on about how, with the way it is connected, if it is not done properly then anything could happen. It might simply not work. Or something very very bad could go down. It's all very scary!
But hopefully that will be taken care of. I do feel better knowing that if something bad happens, I can sleep on
jesusphreaq's couch or something. And my neighbours seem to know what they're doing, so more likely than not we'll get the issue of money/compensation sorted out.
I... need to go do work now.
