Mar. 2nd, 2009 09:10 pmMm. So. Today I failed spectacularly at life, but I don't feel too bad about it. However, this will surely catch up with me, probably around... ooh, 1 PM tomorrow. Yes.
*eyes unopened copy of Tristram Shandy, which he is supposed to have read for tomorrow* Yes. Most definitely, I do declare. Oh dear. You know, I thought I would love this class, but I just plain can't get into it. It can't hold my attention. Then again, the other classes don't hold my attention very well either, but this one even less so. I think it's because I actually don't like eighteenth century literature at all. The only reason I loved those classes at my previous school is because I loved the professor. He was just so awesome. Ah, how I miss him, and my other profs too.
Had to go to a dissertation presentation thing today. I was prepared to be bored, but it was actually pretty interesting, even though I know nothing about the subject. Something about a Marxist critique of the Book of Amos. I situated myself in such a way that I could write fanfiction while I listened. It looked like I was just taking notes, ha. Felt like I was in high school again, it did indeed. So, I worked on that big long Eesti fanfic, and listened to the guy go on about shepherds and prophets and class issues and whatever else. Good times. I got about a page and a half written, which isn't too bad, I think.
The more I write on it though, the more I realize... wow. This couple is really awkward. Sweet, in the way I've written them at least, but hella' awkward. Oh, well. It's a weird pairing so it makes sense that things would be a little strange. No matter~ I'm just having fun with it, so it's all good.
I really wish I had more time to write fills. :/ There are so many things I want to do, and not enough time to do them. I have this Big Long Fic (which is actually part two of another thing), then I need to write a part two of a different thing, which will probably also turn out to be a Big Long Fic. Then I have a list of kink meme prompts a mile long that I want to fill (well, maybe not a mile long, but there's at least ten things on it). Plus I still have two Serious stories that need editing (War of 1812, and WWII), and some poetry about Poland that needs editing. And I have that one story about Poland and The Pianist that I started but haven't finished yet. And then I have a list of ideas for things that I want to write, but haven't gotten around to drafting yet.
*stares at list* ... *stares at homework due dates* Sigh. I probably won't be able to do much personal writing until, mm, second week of April. This makes me very sad. Sure, I can snatch time to write a page here or a page there, but for the most part I'm going to have to hold off on that. That's one good thing about drafting everything on paper, at least - I can snatch time in between classes to write. Wouldn't be able to do that so easily if I did everything electronically.
